Jes vs. the pastry bag

As September comes to a close, I can’t help but think about all the sweet and savory eats I will be making and constantly consuming during these cooler temps. Throughout the year, I stock up on all the recipes that would otherwise heat up my house and gorge on them like a fat kid with his last row of Oreos. However, there is something that is always on the top of my ‘to do’ foodie list: decorated sugar cookies. God, I love cookies. I need monitoring while I decorate, since I have a propensity to screw some up on purpose so I can eat them when I do. Another problem I have is my innate ability to never plan my decorating sessions. This newb has learned a few things since last year. I have unearthed several awesome cookie decorators who will be the mentors to my mania. The next several posts will be covering the basics of decorating cookies with royal icing. I will link you to recipes, tips, and tutorials in the hopes that you will become as obsessed as I. Unless you can think of some insane reason not to like cookies….then I would advise you to get back on your meds, you crazy bat.
